Hello dear friends and co-conspirators,
We’re back from the Wadi Rum Desert of the Rift Valley, eternally grateful and humbled by the eighteen creators who gathered for the OoM Residency 2023 to bear witness to the global water crisis and our interconnected futures. The collective wisdom that was shared, and the synchronicities that happen when we convene with intention… they were nothing short of divine.
We’ll be using this space to share the ripples unfolding from the Residency, as well as inspiration, learning, music, readings, and everything in between.
Thank you for being here! We don't take your presence for granted. If anything from this newsletter resonates with you, hit reply and let’s be in conversation.

Ripples from the OoM Residency 2023
We are thrilled to be co-presenting the latest season of Five and Nine, recorded live in Wadi Rum and hosted by resident Ana Xiao Mina! It’s a beautiful sonic experience of the Residency and Wadi Rum itself.
Episode 1 features resident Farah Foudeh in a conversation on global tourism, the power of images, and off-road driving. Episode 2 features resident Cher-Wen DeWitt in a conversation on the changing nature of philanthropy, burnout, and the allure of other people’s problems.

You can find Five and Nine on Apple, Spotify, Google, Instagram and at thisisfiveandnine.com.
Residents from Talk To Me About Water performed an immersive music experience as part of LMCC’s Annual River to River Festival on Governors Island. The experience transported people to an underwater listening room that was prepared for by the collective during the Residency and included Amelia Winger-Bearskin, Martha Bearskin, Eamon O’Conner, Rowan Haber, Devin Ronneberg and Nour Batyne.

What’s inspiring you at the moment?
We’ll leave you with a poem shared by Ana Xiao Mina during a Yin Yoga offering she lead at the Residency:
Fear By Khalil Gibran It is said that before entering the sea a river trembles with fear. She looks back at the path she has traveled, from the peaks of the mountains, the long winding road crossing forests and villages. And in front of her, she sees an ocean so vast, that to enter there seems nothing more than to disappear forever. But there is no other way. The river can not go back. Nobody can go back. To go back is impossible in existence. The river needs to take the risk of entering the ocean because only then will fear disappear, because that’s where the river will know it’s not about disappearing into the ocean, but of becoming the ocean.
Until next time, wish you deep rest and ease.
With love,
Nour & Britt
